Politics & Religion

Politics and Religion, What A Mix

According to Time Magazine the U.S. has been living beyond its means for some time. “The Federal Government has spent more money then it has taken in and in most of the past four decades”.  One too many debt deals, have been in the works of recent congressional forces; they have breached one to many levees in our Nation and flooded us all (metaphorically speaking).  This created a deficit so large, that we may never see the road to recovery. Looking at the statistics we find that the U.S. is teetering to keep its head above water. We rank at the lower end of the “AA” Rating scale.  The unfortunate event of the left and right wing in crisis with each-other, while the
Nation was in crisis altogether did not sit well with anyone.  Congress should shine serious light on the breakdown at hand here, it's insane. In this recent downgrading backlash  we have not learned anything, that I've seen.
Is the downgrade not evidence of a breakdown of the system? Forcing this Nation into a spiraling down fall basically do to our need for credit. I will touch on the Biblical aspect of debt in another post.  The ideological debates continue but yet resolve nothing.  This makes many wonder exactly where intention of government officials lie.  The people wanting to know who is representing them after all we are depending on of representatives.  If this is going to become just a popularity contest more than anything else, just to become accepted inside the high end super clics; what will happen to the overall constitution that once was there to protect the people?

Many feel there is a new air about those in Congress; and this stands for both the right, & the left in today’s world.  In fact many of the right wing claim their purpose to be a religious fact. It is that they act as if God chose them to work to protect his little people. The left claims their purpose to be true in the answers to prayer, and it has grown to be beyond religion. What is the function for them spotlighting their service to God? Is it to prove to the Nation they are trustworthy? After all if you’re Christian you are not supposed to lie. In politics that has to be a hard act to follow if you're really Christian.  The facts do remain that religion has become a huge part of this political game (if you will) and Congress/Governmental implemented plans as well. The idea to use religion for their own means, draws serious question to the political circus act..
This play on the religious has put a strain upon the relationship between religion and politics. For many in the political powerhouse, it is all part of the whole program; being watched in black & white... I do agree that justice stands firm under the religious proclamation that God founded this country & justice for all, (especially under religion)...  Facts do remain that many specifically on the left hand have been using religion as a tool, separate apart from being just a part of life.  They are wielding it as the party’s factor. They're using it to climb the high latter in the name of the Almighty; yet the name of Jesus is not mentioned.

I was taught we were to pray to the Holy Spirit for intercession by Jesus, because he was the only one who was to go directly to the Most High God (At the right hand of the thrown). This is from a born again Christian (Ministry) view point. I also grew up Catholic and I have a pretty good hold on the concepts.  The Candidates reason for that after all uis proclaiming the power of the new testament likewise they proclaims his authority and power. This of course is only to be asserted by the Church or it's Ordained ministers (Power & Authority.  He ruled as a Popper, not a king and this is where the question lies. Their proclaiming religion as they’re stepping stone in their calling to protect the people; in what manner have they figured this will come about?  There seems to be an inconsistency in the use and force presented to the Masses.
Their "case" stems from the old testament proclaiming that almighty God has put them where they are and is leading them in their purpose. Although the Old Testament is not 1st in command,  but must yield to the New Testament and this is where questions sprang from. The political front runners seem to live in that long-gone-by history, that does not recognize the ways of Jesus.  If in fact they’re Christians as they say they are, where is their commitment to poverty? What about the homeless, the poor disabled or disabled veterans? We here about creating jobs (good), cutting taxes (yes), but we also hear Social Security should not be entitled; that entitlement keeps those poor disabled & elderly people afloat. It is money that keeps them from being homeless (destitute).

These are the people that Jesus proclaimed he was there to protect. Even further he was sent to reclaim and revive sinners; that is a loving and forgiving God. There is no talk of any of this in any of the perennial political parties running for office today.  Obama made a point that he was here to help the little people unfortunately he inherited a crown of hierarchy and great wealth spending habits.  With this down grade, he lost immediately & from the previous spending spree of the Bush years. Obama was forced to join the club and act in the same manner. Those out of control spending frenzies, that our government had become accustom to.  ers under Bush/Republican party. It seems that the Tea Party has likewise adopted this term of Partiers.
In Time Magazine Aug. 15, addition; “it is an article of faith in tea party circles that Washington and Wall Street are in bed concluding for power and profit at the expense of the little guy”..This likewise is adding to previous partying within congress; as the Republican Party become the new and powerful generation to come.  They are the power to be reckoned with in the future; but why? What is this generation pushing to make happen and I ask once more why as Christians? Why is religion involved at all? Wielding in the faith with-in is just as effective (if not more).

Keep an eye open for the second half of this article coming soon…I will address this whole situation in congress to the biblical versions of passing on the Debt Beast……
    Peace until then.......
