- Here at the Metasites CIrcle we firmly believe in philanthropy, and we wanted to get our readers information they may want to use.. If you don't know what philanthropy is, or have old preconceived notions about it; let me tell you about its true origin.
- Philanthropy basically means: "a love for humanity" and it is known to come from the early Grecian period (www.wikipeidia.com/wiki/Philanthropy).
- They gained this term from a history of those who strove to help assist in the prosperity of the whole society. It is about those who will to give or share what they have. It is about those who want to help others because they feel blessed and want to pass on the blessing. And of course it is often about the tax break.
- It is that tax break issues where the word philanthropy gets its bad name, I'm sure. We need to remember that because there are those who use the system for their own means of gain, doesn't mean everyone does. There are also those who give properly and are active in their giving, making sure their money is actually helping some one.
