Here we are in the year 2014 can anyone believe it. I'd like to write specifically on today's issues that are in the news but in the consideration that everything seems to be an issue today makes that impossible. So what then should I focus on? Well many people have came up with individual New Year's resolutions that they plan on tackling. We all know how that goes, we make a new years resolution, we try to keep it for about 8 weeks and then we forget about it. How about we all make a pact to actually keep our New Year's resolutions this year. Let's make the year 2014 a year that we actually do what we say we're going to do. If we could get everybody on board with that maybe something will get done in Congress this year...
In the real news, I wanted to touch base on the nuclear disaster that happened 3 years ago in Japan. I have recently found out that although our nation and the Japanese citizens were told by the Japanese government that it was safe to stay on the island; they have been announcing the contrary to that just recently.
There has been a huge outbreak of cancer in the children of Japan. Many children in Japan have come down with thyroid cancer and it is not just a small amount of them, but every year it seems to grow or double in the amount of children that is suffering from these cancers. The government told people it was safe to stay on the island and downplayed the situation. American officials had suggested everyone leave Japan, the main island where the meltdown occured.
Japanese officials gave their own opinion on the situation. This amounted in citizens staying in there homes, that should have been a zone that no unauthorized people should have been allowed in.. There are people living in the zone that shouldn't even be allowed to be there unless they wearing a specialized suit to be safe. Even with the resent onset of triple the amount of cancers every year since since the meltdown the government stays with there initial report.
American officials have said that this nuclear meltdown should have been treated in the same way as the Chernobyl incident. People should have been evacuated for miles and miles surrounding the area possibly the whole entire island and it is the responsibility by officials connected to the Japanese government that this has been allowed to happen. Because of the new updated count in the cancer rates in the children, Japan citizens are starting to take notice and they are trying to find out what they need to do to keep the children safe. Other officials from around the world believe the only safe way to deal with that problem is to evacuate the people in the area but the Japanese government insist it is safe for their people to stay.
Let me say this to all American citizens: How fortunate I we to live in a country that for the most part takes care of it's people. We do have a sense of self preservation in this nation. Well if we don't count our toxic food mess, going on as the great GMO disaster of our times. I'd say that it is pretty safe to be an American citizen or for the most part sound. Who knows, down the road we may be told that everything we have done in our life was toxic, but anyway, we need to count the little blessing we see all around us and be at peace.
