Happy Columus Day: Did you know?

                     Did You Know?
     Did you know that Christopher Columbus was a Christian? Many do not realize that not only did Columbus discover America he gave the foundation its Christian roots. He also made the discovery in the name sake of God presenting the new world as Gods gift to Gods chosen. The chosen were not just a few, but essentially were a vast array of denominations and multitudes of pilgrims. The pilgrims were mainly Christians, although the humanists were not far behind. Like wise the Puritans, too were ecstatic about the new world, and were along for the ride to build their new world.
   “The English colonies in the new world would then provide comfort and many new opportunities for other settlers who were now beginning to arrive. Their new Christian society would also provide a wonderful way station for their fellow Christians, the Pilgrims. And those fellow travelers,  yes even the ‘strangers’, those godless freethinkers, would be blessed as well. Secular humanist would have more wealth and freedom to please them living in society alongside Biblical Christians than they would in a nation given to state ordained secularism such as France”.
John Winthrop and; A City upon a Hill, by Gavin Finley MD (www.endtimepilgrim.org)
     It was the only choice that made since to those wanting to escape religious oppression and freedom of expression. The colonies of England had their own battles within and everyone around them (outside) was that much worse off; than they already were. How “The Mayflower Compact” was a glorious first fruit for the colonist to come, and it began in Massachusetts. The Pilgrims established the Plymouth colonies on Nov. 11, 1620. The colonist signed the “Compact” for a notified agreement on how they would conduct themselves in their endeavors. The Compact stated:
       “Undertaking for the Glory of God and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honor of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in the northern Parts of Virginia.”
      (The Mayflower Compact Nov. 11, 1620)
     It is amazing to think how this country developed from such spiritual roots. The founding fathers were almost all spiritual beings, deeply devout in the Church of Jesus Christ. They were not only seeking freedom, they were searching for a promise. Yes I would say it is safe to say they were searching for “The Promise Land”. For ages the bible references to the Promise Land was configured to only belong to Israel. As time went by and many realized that the Jews and the Gentiles were promised the Glories of salvation and with the conversion all under way they found themselves standing at the Gates. Needles to say the 12 Tribes of Israel had at that time been distributed around the world just as the Bible said they would be;
     “sift the house of Israel among all nations. As grain is sifted in a sieve, yet not the least kernel will fall on the earth.”
 (Amos 9:09, Bible; NIV)
      Israel suffered every evil on this planet, by being sifted like wheat through exile, enslavement, invasions and they were no longer the united front, but a majority of migrants around the globe. The reason I am on Israel during the Columbus Day literary tribute; is because there has been serious speculation on the, possibility that some of these pilgrim were parts of the lost tribes of Israel. Could Columbus have truly fulfilled the Promise by the Father Almighty? Well the puritans have their own links to Israel and they were some of the first to cross over and establish a Biblical Democracy.
    “We trace the roots of Puritan zeal for “One Nation under God’. Exploring back in time, even back to the Exodus and the founding of the Nation of Israel at Mount Sinai”
     The Puritan Belief in ‘One Nation under God’; by Gaven Finley MD
Likewise the idea of these possibilities does have their authority in the realms of Theological investigative works. With the tribes all split up and scattered, the question of who was who remained. With many tribes on the Jewish division scattered, from ages of war and ruthless adversaries, many inquiries; to the final destination, specifically of the gentiles came to the forefront. It is a historical possibility that the Gentiles (1600s) were separate from the Jews and suspected to be of Celtic origin, by then. Prior to being Celts, (Celtics) they were traced to the Scythian Origin, that later became the Celts. According to the booklet; “The United States and Britain in Bible Prophecy,” by The United Church of God. The list to prove these theories are evident and clear; the authors of these specific work all align with one another, and help to fill in the pieces to the incomplete puzzle. See the specifics for the proof in the references.
 Christopher Columbus discovering America in this idea has a whole new meaning. The context of the first fruits is real; even if it is only through the will to strive for spiritual freedom. But here we are seeing something different, “The Passing of the Torch”. They came created the Plan (The Mayflower Compact) and then they brought more and more pilgrims. Christians; in turn they were passing the torch to keep the fire burning. They were working to fulfill the dream, the hope the faith in Jesus. They past his torch for him and in so doing they kept the Apostlistic action alive. Praise God for such things. We need to remember Mr. Columbus on this very day not just for discovering a country but for Manifesting Destiny (Manifest Destiny; Puritans).

       In the obviously intriguing potential in this conviction, we can see Mr. Columbus in a whole new light. A light high above the light houses of the shores, a light that gives new meaning to the past and the present. A Holy Light, such as the light of God Almighty. In the “Compact” Columbus writes;
  “For the execution of the journey to the Indies, I did not make use of intelligence, mathematics or maps. It is simply the fulfillment of what Isaiah had prophesied…no one should fear to undertake a task in the name of our savior if it is just and if the intention is purely for his Holy Service”
