Mental illness or possession?
I'm not sure how to go about bringing this up, but aren't you a Christian ministry? I do not exactly know why you are dealing with this from a secular stand point? I know that the world does not value nor pay, Christians for their spiritual warfare or spiritual counseling. I realize it is not cheap to help these homeless people, and insurance/Medicaid will not pay to help a possessed person.
My point is you do relate the madness/mental illness with the word Legion; right? Mark 5:05 (man sits in tombs, cries, yells, cuts himself with sharp stone.) mark 5:09 (Jesus calls to the invading unclean spirit "what is thy name?", it responds, "Legion".) Mark 5:13 ( Jesus cast unclean spirit into the swine.) Mark 5:14-15 (towns people come and see him who was possessed with the devil "Legion" sitting, clothed and in his right mind) “Legion”: means army... Therefore the man was possessed by an army of evil spirits. Because of that the man was always acting out in madness. Today they would probably have labeled him as a paranoid schizophrenic.
