The Catholic church claims they are Christian, and do worship the same God, but does that denote Christian? Believe it or not it basically means you are Catholic and not Christian. The Catholic church teaches their own brand of religion. I know I was Catholic for years and being so I didn't even know why Jesus died on the cross! Do you? That fact remains the true religion is in the word (the bible) and there is no other truth in Christianity. After all "before there was man, there was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God" ( Bible, KJV). This is a quot out of the Bible and it basically tells it as it is, the Bibles word depicts God. That simple, that fine!Back to the original topic; if you are Catholic you may have missed a few things. Did you know we can live the word? We can walk in the shoes of Jesus. Better yet we can start over in this life time, and become like new. Even if we were the foulest of creatures, through the gift of the powers within the New Testament , through Jesus, we can leave the past behind. We can actually have communion with the lord Jesus, even if we never went to "Catechism", or achieved "First Communion" or even had the original "Baptism" (all Catholic requirements). All these things are overturned through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Yes there is more involved, but its not anything you would not love, or embrace.
I write these words through my past personal experience with the Catholic church and how it failed me in the ways of knowledge. It failed me in the ways of the true understanding of the cross. Mind you, I'm not saying the Catholic church is evil; by no means! I believe in the "Saints", in the "Crucifix": and the "Catholic Prayer". I believe in the "Nuns" and the "Priesthood" (when pure). The church has failed them all! It became a super power and we all know "Power corrupts and absolutely corrupts". In this we can understand that the Catholic church is a corrupt corporate institution. Therefore incapable of leading the people in the ways of truth. This is like wise how it failed me. I thought myself condemned to eternal damnation. This is what the Church taught; that sinners were to be condemned for there sins and therefore cast to this world in hades/sheol ( a place were the dead go when they die.).
This is simply not complete in its knowledge and it was not right that the church gave us only a portion of the truth, leaving us to battle in the death of sin. if we believe we are condemned with know way out, then we would ever try to please God? That's where Jesus came in! Jesus was crucified on the cross as "the Lamb sacrificed" for all man kind. In his death Jesus metaphysically (philosophically/metaphorically) died in our place, to defeat the power of sin, that causes spiritual death in this world. It is hard for people to understand that God is a Metaphysical power and is mysterious. God is that ultimate mind we all wish we had or could even understand for that matter. With this said we can then comprehend the incredible gift the Crucifixion was (is), and how we too can "resurrect", like Jesus did, from the dead! From our spiritual death we can rise into spiritual life, through our Lords spirit. Then and only then will we understand spiritual things. If we are spiritually dead, we do not! Therefore if someone tries to explain to us something in a spiritual manner we will not get it. We will be blind to the truth of that view or vision. Did the Catholic church tell you that?
No one from the Catholic church ever told me this stuff and my aunt's a Catholic Nun at the Presentation of Mary. She did give me this little tidbit of info to stand on, she said; " The church is a building, it's an institution, but (she pointed to my heart, and said) god lives in your heart, not just in the building/church".
