Alaska storm video

Here's something we don't see every day in Alaska, a storm with hurricane like elements. The force of the wind seemed to pick up to the awful equivalent to some of our own Northeasters, but adding the southern tsunami effect. This is what the videos, seem to portray in hindsight. Check out this msnbc video and see for yourself the power of this storm.
   The videos that were sent to msnbc all seemed to have one thing in common (besides the video) and that was the shaken people holding video cameras. We have to admit that Alaska lives the way of some unthinkable weather. The summer temps range any wheres from 30-80 degrees; the average being 52-72 degrees.Winter time adds a whole other frame of mind, a chilling one. Although the interior portions of Alaska can reach 80 degrees in the summer, the winter temps can get as cold a -62 degrees. These are not temps that many have the grit to live with, (including myself)
, but the Alaskans seem to manage it without complaint. This storm seemed to be a different story. No one  seemed to thrilled with this storm in Alaska (except us watching on our Comps.). Although they are used to the northeaster type storm that brings in the incredible snow records. The wind and water of this storm pushed the limits, leaving behind it a, trail of rubble from its very destructive force.
    Needless to say many Alaskans have a clean-up job ahead of them. That job is underway as we speak/read, but it could take the rest of the week to get things in order. Unfortunately that may not include the amenities like electricity and phone etc., but they are well prepared in these regions with generators and other types of special living preparations needed for their climate.
